Dr. Chef Damu

Chana Masala


Chana – 50 gms
Onion – 75 gms
Coriander leaves – 1/2 bunch
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Tomatoes – 75 gms
Chana masala powder – 3 tsp
Oil – 100 ml
Salt – to taste
Black Salt – 1 pinch
Cumin – 1tsp
Chilli powder – 2 tsp
Turmeric – 1 pinch


1. Soak Channa Dal for 8 hours and steam in a Pressure Cooker until it is overcooked.
2. Grind a Tomato, Onion, Few Coriander leaves, Cumin seeds.
3. Heat 2 spoons of Oil and add a cup of Chopped Onions and the ground mixtures.
4. Add Salt and Black salt to taste; Red Chilli powder and the steamed Channa and fry until everything mixes well.
5. Add a Garam Masala, Chana masala powder and a bunch of fresh Coriander leaves.
6. Place a piece of lime with it while serving.
